Geography: History and Concepts

Geography: History and Concepts, 5th Edition, is a textbook that introduces students to the development of geographical thought. Written by Arild Holt-Jensen and published by Sage Publications Ltd (UK) in 2018, the book examines the discipline by integrating environmental, historical, and social perspectives.

The volume explores complex theoretical ideas in an intelligible style. For the 2018 edition, the text includes new case studies along with revisions and updates throughout, adding chapters that expand coverage of global subjects, poststructuralism, and the future of geography.

Designed as an introductory companion for students, the textbook supports coursework with research examples, explanatory text boxes, discussion questions at the end of each chapter, and a concept glossary.
