The Broadview Introduction to Philosophy

The Broadview Introduction to Philosophy is an anthology edited by Andrew Bailey that presents primary philosophical literature from historical foundations to modern scholarship. The collection brings together seventy-five individual readings designed to guide students through enduring intellectual debates.

The selections span traditional philosophical concerns as well as urgent contemporary social challenges. The readings encompass classic problems in metaphysics and ethical theory, presenting foundational inquiries alongside recent work on modern social issues.

To assist readers with complex material, each selection includes an introductory overview that outlines the historical background and argumentative structure of the text. These framing notes help students examine primary arguments in their original conceptual settings.
